Technical Help For Newbie Internet Marketers

December 11th, 2009 · 13 Comments

Have you ever been faced with technical challenges getting your internet marketing business started?  Do you feel stuck or overwhelmed by all the technical jargon thrown around by the “gurus”?

If you are like many people getting started online, these technical issues can really slow down the process of building an internet business or using the internet to market your offline business.   If this is the case, you have come to the right place.

“For Internet Newbies” is a site I created for the purpose of helping people overcome their technical challenges in internet marketing.

You may wonder who I am and why I would want to help you.  My name is Allen Davis.  I have been helping people with their technical problems for the past 18 years.  I did it for 17 years working as a technical support engineer for a hi-tech company, then last year I got laid off.

Now I am working in internet marketing and it just comes naturally to me to help others struggling with the technical aspects;  that is what I do best.  I help people with their technical issues.  And I want to help you with yours.

You see, I knew how to FTP before I ever heard of (maybe even before Al Gore invented?)  the Internet.  Although I don’t call myself a programmer, I have written quite a few programs and dabble in php.  My wife tells me I speak HTML in my sleep and I use CSS to color my dreams.

I will be posting step-by-step how-to videos, holding webinars and offering one-on-one support at this site.  If you need any help at all please leave a comment below.

    Hi Velva,

Well, in order to set up your website, the first thing you will need is a hosting account. There are free hosting services and free blogging or social media sites, but if you really want to succeed you need to have your own domain and website to present a professional image.

It all boils down to the question: “Do I trust this person and the products she recommends?” If you are advertising on http://freedomainsforall.com/members/velvas/myaffiliateproduct it doesn’t inspire a lot of trust. http://velvasconsultant.com, for example, will create a much more professional and trustworthy image.

You can get a domain name registered here. http://short9.com/domain

You also need to capture the leads to follow up with them. Research shows that most people are not going to make a purchase on the first contact, so being able to follow up and build that trust is important.

If you don’t already have hosting I recommend the service I use: The ultimate marketing center at http://short9.com/UMC. They have hosting and autoresponder and much more for a low monthly fee.

If you have all those in place let me know and I will help you getting a website started on your domain.

Thanks for the gracious comments Andrew. I don’t think I can take all the credit, I am sure your persistence had something to do with your success. I wish more people would take consistent action like you do. That’s the main thing required to succeed.
